The State's Attorney has the statutory duty to
serve
the community's need for public safety and welfare by vigorously and justly
prosecuting juvenile and adult criminal offenders in Peoria County; to
provide for the welfare of children by adjudicating cases of neglected,
dependent or abused minors; to provide assistance to victims regarding the
criminal justice process by treating them with respect and educating them on
becoming effective participants in the process; and to serve the taxpayers'
interest in county government by initiating and defending actions on behalf
of Peoria County government and officers and providing legal counsel to
county departments. |
