The Corrections Division is the largest division of the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff employees 12 Jail Techs, 53 Officers, 1 Classification Director, 3 Sergeants, 7 Deputy Correctional Superintendents, and 1 Assistant Correctional Superintendent to manage the 8th largest jail in the State of Illinois. Staff that work in this division take pride in operating a jail facility that is safe and secure for inmates, staff, contractors, and volunteers. The Sheriff's Office is committed to working with offenders to successfully bring them back into the community. Classes for GED, Substance Abuse, Jobs Partnership, and Food Sanitation are offered to all those that meet the criteria.

Bond money in the form of cash, money order or cashier's check is accepted 24 hours per day, 7 days per week in the bonding lobby. In addition to the bond, a bonding fee is assessed to process the paperwork. The current fee to bond is $60.00 per case in addition to any court fees.
Inmates are allowed to have one 20 minute personal visit per week once they have been custody for at least seven days.
The Prison Rape Elimination Act is a Federal Law that prohibits and seeks to eliminate sexual abuse and sexual harassment in correctional institutions.
