Corrections Superintendent Ronda Y. Guyton


Superintendent Ronda Y. Guyton began her law enforcement career in 1994 as a correctional officer. She was promoted to Deputy Sheriff in January 1997 and Jail Superintendent in August 2017.

Superintendent Guyton has served in several different assignments throughout her career with the Peoria County Sheriff's Office. She has served as a Community Police Officer for Medina Township, Field Training Officer, Warrants Division, honors board and State Local Auto Theft Enforcement (SLATE) investigations. She received a Life Saving Award in 2006 along with many other letters of accommodations. Superintendent Guyton is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Springfield with a B.A. in Criminal Justice (2004), summa cum laude and University of Illinois at Chicago with a certificate in nonprofit management (2017). She served in the United States Army Reserve 1991-1999 and is active in the community.

In her current position she is in charge of Peoria County Sheriff's Office Corrections.
