Family Justice Center
Corie J. Sego
Project Coordinator
The Peoria County Family Justice Center was
created so that victims of domestic violence would have a safe place to receive
information and services. The Family Justice Center is a collaborative effort
between the Peoria County State's Attorney's Office, the Peoria Police
Department, the Peoria County Sheriff's Office, Peoria County Court Services,
Adult Probation and the Center for the Prevention of Abuse.
These entities work together to provide a
"one-stop" shop for victims of domestic violence. Victims can come to the
Family Justice Center and file police reports, speak with an advocate, develop
personalized safety plans, be assessed for risk and danger in their current
relationship, receive assistance in obtaining an Order of Protection and receive
resources and referrals to assist them in transitioning out of an abusive
relationship.
Together we can make a difference.
