CASE SYNOPSIS:  Brown was arrested Sunday, June 17, 2007 for an arson that happened in the 1300 block of Smith Street. Brown, acting with a 14 year old co-conspirator, first broke into the home taking CD's, then set the house ablaze. The juvenile defendant participated as the look out. Brown is charged with Arson, Residential Burglary and Residential Arson. The juvenile is being charged in juvenile court with Arson, Residential Burglary and Residential Arson. All are felony counts. If he is convicted, he faces imprisonment for a term not to exceed his 21st birthday.  The fire caused approximately $30,000 in damages.  If Brown is convicted, each felony charge carries a sentence of 4-15 years imprisonment.

Brown remains in custody at the Peoria County Jail. His bond is set at $100,000.

April 4, 2008, Brown plead guilty to Residential Arson. As part of the plea agreement, the Residential Burglary and Arson charges were dismissed. Brown will appear in court 5/23/08 for sentencing.  He faces up to 7 years in prison.
