CASE NO. 08-CF-62

CASE SYNOPSIS:  January 17, 2008, Monterius Hinkle was arrested and charged with Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault, Criminal Sexual Assault and Unlawful Restraint after he sexually assaulted a 16 year old student. The victim was walking near Garden and Folkers, on her way to school January 16, 2008, when Hinkle, whom she knows, came up to her and started talking.  When the victim attempted to leave, she was grabbed around the neck and forcibly taken to Hinkle's home in the 2800 block of Malone Street, where she was sexually assaulted.

After assaulting the victim, Hinkle left the home and the girl was able to leave and contact police.  Hinkle was arrested the next day and remains in the Peoria County Jail, bond set at $200,000.  Click here to read the Grand Jury Indictment.
