CASE SYNOPSIS:  Jessica King, 25, a former Peoria County Circuit Clerk employee, was arrested for official misconduct and intimidation on May 24, 2006 after a woman was assaulted inside a bathroom while at the Peoria County Courthouse.  While working in the criminal division of the Circuit Clerk's Office, King questioned a woman that was seeking information about an individual King knows.  After questioning the woman, King was seen making phone calls.  King called Nakesha Wilkens who later assaulted the woman inside a bathroom outside of the clerk's office.  An investigation into King's phone calls traced several calls to Wilkens' cell phone from King's desk.

 

If convicted, King faces probation or up to five years in prison. Nakesha Wilkens was arrested and charged with aggravated battery. If convicted, she faces probation or up to five years in prison.

8/16/07 Nakesha Wilkens plead guilty to Battery and received a 1 year conditional discharge, fines/costs/fees in the amount of $1866.59 and 16 days in the Peoria County Jail. She was given credit for 8 days, time served.
