Case No. 08-CF-676

CASE SYNOPSIS:  On June 4, 2008, Gary Miller was arrested in Springfield, Illinois for the June 1, 2008, vehicle hijacking and sexual assault of a Chillicothe woman.

Sunday evening, June 1, 2008, as a Chillicothe woman loaded groceries into her vehicle in the parking lot of the Kroger store at 603 S 4th St, Chillicothe, Miller approached the woman and pushed her into her vehicle, taking her keys. He then drove off with the woman and the woman's 7-1/2 month old infant. The infant was in the backseat of the vehicle. While he drove, Miller forced the woman to perform a sex act on him. He also performed a sex act on the the woman.

The woman was able to persuade Miller to drive to a secure location. Once stopped, Miller got out of the vehicle and the woman locked the doors and drove off.  Miller was arrested three days later. He is charged with Aggravated Vehicle Hijacking/Passenger<16 years old, Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault, Vehicular Hijacking and Criminal Sexual Assault.  Bond is set at $500,000.
